Persona 4: Dancing All Night

It’s been forever since I last wrote about a game, but I picked this up to tide me over until P3D/P5D and I feel the overwhelming need to vent about it lol. (I actually type out posts like this all the time, but I usually delete them after rereading and wondering what the hell I was thinking)

Disclaimer: I played the JP version and I don’t know what was changed for the English release. I don’t have any of the DLC or updates because my Vita is on NA store.

I don’t outright spoil any plot points, but depending on your definition of “spoilers” you might not want to read this if you haven’t played the game.

Persona O.A. All Conversations

Decided to move these to a separate post since they were taking up a lot of space.

Thanks to the power of unencrypted dialogue scripts, these are complete! …For now, at least. Currently only Morgana/Ryuji/Ann/Yusuke/Futaba are available in the game.
(Titles are not in the scripts and will be added as I unlock them.)

Whoa! I didn’t realize that it’d been over a week since the last one. Whoops.

This time it’s about detective novels. For the record, Yoshi-P is totally writing whatever he wants at this point, and it’s going to be a while before it gets back to FFXIV. Is it even OK to categorize this post under Games? 🤔

Persona O.A. Reference Guide

Mobage are evil but this one has no in-app purchases so it gets a pass. Except no because the loading times are god awful… Why does such a small app take 50-60 seconds to start up? Why is the calendar so buggy? Why does clicking the comment icon on the calendar freeze the app?

But it’s OK. I play this game so that you don’t have to put up with it!

…Where are my Joker events???!??!

Someone finally made a JP resource! Info has been merged in.

Event conversations are complete and have been moved here! →

Spring 2017 end

Watching anime is really hard

Also stopped being lazy and put things in rank order

Also I REALLY wasn’t going to post this considering it’s literally the wrong year now, but I saw it already mostly-written and felt like I had to go through with it ;_; no bully

Perhaps I should at least try to stay within 1 year behind :S

Networking 101 continued.

I suspected the columns were getting longer, but originally chalked it up to the font being bigger in this book (or my writing just getting more wordy)… but no, this column was a full 5 pages in the original book. I guess poor Kikuchi-san doesn’t get apologies anymore w

Probably going to be messing with the formatting for the next few posts, but let’s get this started. As you would expect from Yoshi-P, the first column in this book has nothing to do with FFXIV or game development :v

TL note: I completely localized the first paragraph of #45. The JP term is nekama, an abbreviation of “(inter)net” and “okama” (drag queen).

This is the first compilation of Yoshi-P’s biweekly column in Famitsu.

Translating the entire book before posting was giving me anxiety for some reason, so for #2 I guess I’ll post individual stories as I go…

Idk what else to write so I’ll just copy paste my TL note here:

The Japanese title of this book translates to “Yoshida’s Everyday Candid [Stories]”, which is why you will see the word “candid” a lot. I put the title as “Yoshida Uncensored” because that was the English translation shown on Live Letter presentations, making it at least slightly official. Aside from that, this will be a fairly literal translation because of the nature of the subject matter. Some parts have been slightly modified to match Western terminologies (for example, we often refer to the re-release of FFXIV as just “2.0” or “ARR”. Also, Yoshi-P often flips between first-person and third-person, but I changed it to consistently be first-person. Anything not marked with “TL Note” is present in the original book. This book was published in 2016, so there are a few statements that are now out of date.
